Mumbles & Whispers

Curious Volume wanted a slick CD to sell at their merch table when they hit the road in 2012, but were still in the middle of writing their next album. The decision was made to re-record their diy effort — Mumbles and Whispers — with their new lineup in a sophisticated, studio setting.

In addition to guitar, synths, and the occasional third harmony, I engineered and edited this album. I’m particularly proud of how Vs. World turned out — the song I originally joined the band on stage for at shows.

Overall, the diy charm of the original may’ve been traded for some polished punch, but in the end, I believe we achieved what we set out to do: present a new take on some old songs and — when possible — dial up the madness.
